Discovery Through The Arts offers private and ensemble music lessons alongside education and community outreach programs that unleash creativity, imagination and fun through exposure, participation and appreciation of the arts. With over 40 years of teaching experience, we’ve developed a holistic teach-to-learn approach that offers comprehensive training with a focus on building emotional and artistic connections.

Using a range of musical styles and intergenerational teaching, we develop extraordinary musicians who are also outstanding human beings.

Life is busy. We help you balance your schedule with engaging, customized, holistic music lessons – in the comfort of your own home. Our lessons are appropriate for all ages and levels and are provided by teachers accredited in the “teach-to-learn” methodology. Choose from piano, guitar and voice.

Generations jam together. Participate in a unique, supportive environment where professionals, faculty and students collaborate, perform and explore a variety of instruments, have fun and learn vital music and life lessons. Ensembles include: jazz, vocal, rock group and songwriting.

Mentoring students to succeed. Enhance the academic and emotional development of your students.  Our DTTA-trained music teachers will come to your school and work with your students as peers, teaching music skills and appreciation as well as improving discipline and self-confidence. We work with public and private schools such as: Linden School and more.

Building stronger communities. Through ‘DTTA Community’ and ‘DTTA Youth Advantage’, our not-for-profit arm, we collaborate with foundations, social service and community groups to spread the natural healing power of the arts. Our music mentors help participants discover their own potential, preparing them for a lifetime of success.

Partners have included: JazzFM, The Good Shepherd, Kensington Market Jazz Festival and more.

“Discovery Through The Arts teachers are highly skilled multi-instrumentalists who can operate in a wide array of musical genres with style and joy. They guide younger students with patience, well-developed teaching skills and Madoka’s own, highly successful approach.  I wish I could be a child again just to have a chance to participate in her school.”
